SUMMATIVE PERSONAL CAREER PLANName: James Pyper Tutor group:12(6) Date: 20 th March 2011REVIEW - Where am I now? I’m currently studying nine GCSE’s, my favourite subjects are German and maths. I enjoy German because I am good at it, and I enjoy maths because I enjoy algebra and working things out for myself.I have taken tests such as pathfinder and I found it to be very beneficial as it helped me to decidewhat path I should follow. I enjoy playing the piano thoroughly and am currently studying Schubert’sImpromptu No.2. I have applied for a job playing the piano in my local restaurant however I haveyet to hear from them. The only other work experience I have is that I was a paper boy for a year; Ienjoyed this type of work and would make me consider taking a job in the royal mail or some other delivery service. GOALS - Where do I want to go? First choice: Downpatrick tech to do a course in music and music technology combined. It would be theequivalent to three A-levels and it is the subject I am most interested in. My cousins have been agreat influence in my choosing of this course as one of them has gone on to do his degree in thisfield, I feel it opens up a lot of doors for me as this course will teach me to improve my playing, teach me to record music and to set up sound equipment. Second choice: I am also rather interested in homeopathy, I would also consider going to tech to do a course inhomeopathy and alternative medicine. I think homeopathy would be a good subject choice as thereare not many homeopathic practitioners in Ireland, and it would mean I would also have another source of income if I ever need it. TARGETS - What steps should I take to achieve my goals?   I have put my name down for the course on music technology in Downpatrick, and I hope to be accepted into there. I need to study and get at least four of my GCSE’s in order to be acceptedonto that course. I would also like to learn more about homeopathy and perhaps take a night class init whilst focusing on my music. ACTION TO BE TAKEN - How will I take these steps I need to work hard and achieve good grades in my GCSE’s, this will give me a good starting pointin whatever path I choose to follow. I would also like another interview with the careers advisor for my school and see what he thinks of my choices. I also need to focus on getting my grade fivetheory before I go for my interview at the college.  IDEAS ON HOW TO WRITE YOUR YEAR 12 SUMMATIVE PCP Your Summative PCP is a summary of the career planning activities that you have been involved inat Key Stage 4. It should reflect your personal thoughts about your career plans, and in particular, what you are thinking of doing at the end of Year 12. TARGETS - What steps should I take to achieve my goals?  What short-term decisions do you need to make in order to achieve your goals? e.g. choice of subjects in the 6th form, choice of vocational A-levels or Jobskills programme.  What information do you need to help you make your decisions?  What longer term steps will you need to take to achieve your goals; e.g. if you want to besolicitor you will need to study for a degree in Law, followed by a period of professionaltraining.
