Wow! That is a whopper of a donation!
Marie Toulantis, CEO of BarnesandNoble.com was quoted as saying: “It’s such an honor for Barnes and Noble to provide books, games, and toys to members of the military community as a way to say thank you for all their services,” and further said: “We’re very thankful to … all those involved in the America Supports You program for helping us get our gift to military members.”
Their donation went to America Supports You, which is a Defense Department program connecting citizens and corporations with military personnel and their families serving at home and abroad.
The unfortunate cloud within this silver lining is the closing of the Memphis, TN Internet distribution warehouse. When they decided to close that location, they chose to donate the stock to America Supports You.
